  3.     To enter, click the File button

  5. Item: Delete
  6. Type: Action Bar
  7. Desc: Clicking on this brings up the
  8. standard GEM File Selector. Choose
  9. which file you wish to delete or else
  10. press the 'Cancel' button to abort. If
  11. you selected a file it will then be
  12. deleted.
  13. Opts: All File options (FS)
  14.  
  15. Item: File Type Selector
  16. Type: Icon Selector
  17. Desc: Choose which of the 14 file types
  18. you wish to be using. All options which
  19. use the GEM File Selector will have the
  20. appropriate extender added to the Path
  21. Name. For details of each of the File
  22. Types, turn to the appropriate section
  23. of the manual.
  24. Opts: All File options (FS)

  26. Item: Folder
  27. Type: Action bar
  28. Desc: Allows you to create a new
  29. folder. When the File Selector appears,
  30. type in the folder's name and press
  31. <Return>. A folder is then created in
  32. the Path Name at the top of the File
  33. Selector.
  34. Opts: All File Options (FS)

  36. Item: Format
  37. Type: Action Bar
  38. Desc: This presents an Alert Box asking
  39. whether you wish to format a single or
  40. doulble-sided disk (or Cancel). If you
  41. decide to format a disk, insert the
  42. destination disk before clicking on the
  43. Alert Box. You will then be able to
  44. watch on the screen how far the
  45. formatting has got as it performs!  Be
  46. careful that you do not format the
  47. Canvas program disk by accident!
  48. Always leave it write-protected as a
  49. precaution.

  53. Type: Action Bar
  54. Desc: This brings up a simple Alert Box
  55. displaying the amount of free space on
  56. the disk in KiloBytes (1024 bytes), and
  57. also the current Path Name.

  60. Item: Load
  61. Type: Action Bar
  62. Desc: Presents the GEM File Selector
  63. and allows you to Load a file of the
  64. type specified by the File Type
  65. Selector above.
  66. Opts: All File Options (FS)

  68. Item: Quit
  69. Type: Action Bar1
  70. Desc: If you really want to Quit Canvas
  71. and return to the DeskTop, then click
  72. the 'Yes' button on the Alert Box. This
  73. results in all of the work screens
  74. being lost as well as anything else you
  75. may have changed since you loaded
  76. Canvas such as palettes and 3D objects
  77. etc.
  78. Opts: None

  80. Item: Rename
  81. Type: Action Bar
  82. Desc: Using the File Selector, and the
  83. prompts given at the bottom of the
  84. screen (below the File Selector), you
  85. may rename an old file name with a new
  86. one. Ensure that the Path Names of both
  87. the old file and the new file are the
  88. same or something nasty may happen to
  89. your disk!

  93. Type: Action Bar
  94. Desc: Similar (but opposite!?!) to the
  95. Load option. See File section of this
  96. manual for information of each file
